Family Tribute
The Peter Culverhouse Memorial Trust Fund
Peter Culverhouse, aged 31 years, died in October 2003 in The Princess Alice Hospice, after losing a bravely fought battle against a brain tumour for over 6 years. He has always underplayed the seriousness of his condition, never complained and never gave up hope.

It was after Peter's funeral that school friends, Nick Crossley, Tom Humphreys and Mark Shepherd, led by Paul Donovan, set up the Peter Culverhouse Memorial Trust Fund. An important objective of the Trust is to provide a permanent source of funding for The Princess Alice Hospice and The Sandra Dickinson Research Trust as a lasting memory to Peter. An initial endowment was set up and a regular income established by the give-as-you-earn scheme, one-off donations and topped up by fundraising events. Peter's employers, Logica, have donated £750 to the fund and Legal & General have supported the Trust by holding a charity day at their offices last year which raised £2,500.

The setting up of the Trust Fund has given Peter's family something to focus on. They are holding their 2005 Golf Day on 9th June, Peter's birthday, at Clarendon Regis Golf Club near Guildford. This event raised around £3,000 in 2004, and hopefully it will be as successful and enjoyable this year. If you would like to participate, as an individual or in a team-of-four, please e-mail David Culverhouse or phone him on 01372 458768. All standards are welcome.
